Dave Grohl Will Play Drums on next "Queens of the Stone Age" album.

About a month and a half ago, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters played "their last show for a while" according to Dave Grohl. Then later it was announced by Dave that the band would take a break before playing again, recording, touring etc.

Naturally being a huge fan of the band I was immediately kind of disappointed. I was never angry and I still am not because I know that these guys will make music again someday, maybe years from now but someday. However, my immediate disappointment has turned completely in the other direction and now I am VERY excited for some of the new projects Dave is embarking in.

For one, there is of course the Sound City Documentary that Dave Grohl is directing, where he is collaborating with numerous musicians from Ozzy Osbourne, to Lars Ulrich, to even the guys from Weezer. The amount of teasing that has been done for this documentary is fucking unreal. The youtube channel simply drops these 30 second "musical memories" which are absolutely awesome to watch. Plus, it is of course the studio where "Nevermind" was recorded so that's just another reason for someone like me to get very excited.
Dave Grohl drumming for Them Crooked Vultures
The next thing Dave is doing according to Rolling Stone is drumming once again for "Queens of the Stone Age". I love these guys because they have such a raunchy style of rock n' roll. Dave already drummed  on their album "Songs for the Deaf" in 2002 when the Foo Fighters took a break between "There is Nothing Left to Lose" and "One by One". And that album was very good to me. Grohl also teamed with QOTSA frontman Josh Homme during the formation of the supergroup "Them Crooked Vultures" with Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones. One can only hope Dave goes on tour with QOTSA because I would love to see him play drums in that kind of setting once more.

All Foo Fighters fans who are disgruntled or angry with the temporary hiatus at the moment should not be. This band is mature, strong and have been around for a long time. If anything, they deserve to take some time off and even if they decide to never do this again, it will be understandable because 18 years is a long fucking time. Besides, Dave Grohl will continue to make music until the day he dies, I am sure of it.
